Solivagant (To wander alone)

Solivagant is a series which attempts to create a portrait of a stranger whilst exploring connection and belonging to place.

In December 2015 the body of a man was found lying just off a track up from Dovestones Reservoir in the Peak District. With no clues to the mans identity, he was given the name Neil Dovestones whilst the police continued to investigate. 13 months after the discovery of his body, he was reunited with his real name and identity. 

Dovestones Reservoir was where David Lytton’s life sadly ended, but it was only the beginning when it came to the unanswered questions and speculation surrounding Neil Dovestones.
